On the way to Khao Sok National Park, we’ll make a brief stop at the Takua Pa morning market — a vibrant hub of local life and an essential part of the Thai economy. These traditional markets offer a firsthand look at the farm-to-table lifestyle that has long been a part of everyday life in Thailand.

You’ll have the chance to browse local market stalls filled with fresh produce, meats, seafood, and delicious prepared Thai dishes. It’s a great opportunity to experience authentic Thai food culture before we continue our journey to the rainforest of Khao Sok.

Embark on an unforgettable jungle trek in Khao Sok National Park with an experienced local guide who will lead you on a 3 to 4-hour hike through the park’s lush and ancient rainforest. Along the way, your guide will point out unique plants and wildlife, offering fascinating insights into this biodiverse ecosystem.

Keep your eyes open for rare mammals, including gibbons, Dusky Leaf monkeys, Spectacled langurs, Barking deer, Malayan tapir, and the elusive Malayan sun bear. Though tigers and two species of leopards still inhabit the park, they are rarely seen due to their elusive nature.

Khao Sok is also a paradise for birdwatchers, home to over 300 bird species, including impressive birds of prey such as the Osprey and the Crested Serpent Eagle. Enjoy a replenishing Thai-style lunch provided by your guide, and take time to unwind by the cool, clear waters. If conditions allow, you’re welcome to take a refreshing swim in the natural pool. The flow of the falls varies with the seasonal rainfall, but its tranquil beauty remains a highlight of the tour year-round.

Step into a canoe and enjoy a relaxing scenic cruise along the Sok River, guided by your expert local paddle guide. After exploring the wilderness of Khao Sok National Park, enjoy a unique cultural and wildlife experience by visiting the resident monkeys at Wat Tam Panturat Temple. This peaceful Buddhist temple, nestled in the jungle, offers a rare chance to observe monkeys up close in a calm and respectful setting.

Throughout Thailand, temple grounds are known as safe havens where animals—especially curious primates—often find refuge. The monkeys here are friendly and used to visitors, making it a great opportunity for close observation and photography.

Just a word of caution: monkeys are known collectors, especially of shiny objects. We recommend leaving jewelry and valuables such as necklaces and bracelets in the minivan to avoid any unexpected additions to the monkeys’ collection.

As your day of adventure winds down, your driver and guide will ensure a safe and comfortable return to your hotel in the Khao Lak area, typically around 6:00 PM.
