James Bond Island Longtail Tour

Discover the natural wonders and cultural treasures of Southern Thailand with Phuket Travel Store on an unforgettable day trip to James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay. This guided sea tour takes you through the serene beauty of Ao Phang Nga National Park, one of Thailand’s most iconic and photogenic destinations. Marvel at towering limestone cliffs, mysterious sea caves, and the famous Koh Tapu — better known as James Bond Island — before visiting the unique floating village of Koh Panyee (Panyi).

Explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Phang Nga Bay is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason. Its dramatic karst landscape has been sculpted over millions of years by natural erosion, resulting in jagged limestone cliffs and hidden lagoons that seem straight out of a movie — and in fact, they are. The bay rose to international fame when Koh Tapu appeared in the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun, giving the island its now-famous nickname.

Comfortable Transfer and Scenic Drive

Your adventure begins with a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus pickup directly from your hotel in the Khao Lak area. Our friendly, English-speaking driver and guide will accompany you on the scenic drive through southern Thailand's lush landscapes to the Phang Nga pier. There, you’ll board a traditional Thai longtail boat — the perfect way to navigate the peaceful waters and limestone islands of the bay.

James Bond Island and Ko Khao Phing Kan

Your first stop by boat is Ko Khao Phing Kan, where you’ll get a perfect view of the striking Koh Tapu. This dramatic limestone spire rises vertically from the emerald-green sea and is one of the most photographed spots in Thailand. Walk a short trail to a scenic viewpoint and capture your own postcard-worthy shot of this iconic island. The surrounding area offers fascinating geology, including caves and narrow rock formations that tell a story millions of years in the making.

Canoe Adventure Through Sea Caves

After soaking in the views, your journey continues with a peaceful canoe exploration. An experienced paddle guide will take you through hidden lagoons and mystical sea caves where you can see intricate stalactites and stalagmites up close. With no need to paddle yourself, your hands are free to snap incredible photos of the scenery and wildlife. This is one of the most serene and awe-inspiring parts of the tour — floating through natural rock tunnels surrounded by towering cliffs.

Visit the Floating Village of Koh Panyee

Next, the boat glides toward Koh Panyee, a remarkable Muslim floating village built on stilts above the sea. Here, you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared Thai lunch at a local restaurant with views of the surrounding bay. After lunch, stroll through the village with your guide, meeting locals and learning about their traditional way of life. Koh Panyee is famous for its floating football field, local crafts, and hand-made jewelry. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase authentic souvenirs, such as pearls and handmade goods directly from the villagers.

Temple Visit and Monkey Encounter

Once back on the mainland, the cultural experience continues with a visit to a serene Thai Buddhist temple, nestled in the rainforest. This peaceful setting offers insights into Thai spirituality and architecture, with golden statues, incense-filled halls, and sacred relics. Nearby, you'll encounter playful macaque monkeys, often seen frolicking in the temple grounds. You can observe them up close — and even feed them if you wish!

Arrival at the Pier – Your Adventure Begins

Don’t forget your camera — every moment is picture-perfect!

James Bond Island - Don’t Just Watch James Bond — Live the Adventure!

Ready to see the world-famous James Bond Island in person? Be pre paired and get ready to capture unforgettable moments at Ko Tapu, the iconic limestone islet featured in The Man with the Golden Gun.

Your guide will take you to Ko Khao Phing Kan, where you’ll enjoy the best viewpoint for snapping incredible photos of the towering 20-meter-high monolith. Explore the island’s unique rock formations, including the stunning cliff face that leans against a neighboring peak, giving the island its name — “The Island of Mountains Leaning Against Each Other.”

Booking online is quick, secure, and guarantees your spot on this popular tour. Don’t miss your chance to recreate that famous 007 moment. Reserve now and get ready for your own cinematic adventure in Phang Nga Bay!

Explore Hidden Wonders by Sea Canoe

Get ready for an unforgettable sea cave canoeing experience! Your captain will stop at a special location where an experienced paddle guide will take you deep into the heart of Phang Nga Bay’s limestone caves.

Glide silently through ancient sea caves, shaped over centuries by water erosion and sedimentary deposits. Marvel at the stalactites hanging above and stalagmites rising from the shoreline as you pass through sinkholes, caverns, and narrow passageways — all without lifting a paddle.

With your guide doing the work, your hands are free to relax and snap stunning photos of the mysterious interior landscapes. This peaceful and surreal journey is a must-do for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.

Traditional Thai Lunch at Panyee Floating Village

Experience the unique charm of Ko Panyee, a remarkable floating village that appears to hover above the sea. While it looks like it floats, nearly every structure in Panyee Village is actually supported by stilts anchored into the seabed. One exception is the famous floating football pitch, built by local youth who gained national attention by winning six consecutive Southern Thailand Championships from 2004 to 2010.

Today, the village is home to about 1,600 residents, many of whom are descendants of Javanese families that settled here in the 18th century. You’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Thai lunch, freshly prepared by the villagers.

After your meal, take time to explore the village, meet the locals, shop for handmade souvenirs, and discover the proud history and culture of the Panyee people. It’s more than a meal — it’s a cultural journey you won’t forget.

Visit a Peaceful Thai Buddhist Temple

On your way back to Khao Lak, your guide will take you to one of the region’s serene Thai Buddhist temples. Depending on the day, you'll either visit Wat Tham Suwan Kuha or the quieter Wat Prachum Sueksa.

While Wat Tham Suwan Kuha is famous for its reclining Buddha statue inside a cave and a troop of resident monkeys, it can often be overcrowded with large tour groups from Phuket. If that’s the case, your guide will take you to Wat Prachum Sueksa instead, where you can enjoy a more peaceful and personal experience, perfect for taking photos of the temple grounds without the crowds — and yes, without the monkeys.

But don’t worry! If you're excited to see monkeys, your guide will make a stop at a picturesque public park in Phang Nga, where you can safely observe and photograph monkeys in a more relaxed setting. It’s the perfect cultural stop to round out your adventure.

Meet the Resident Monkeys of Phang Nga

If you're excited to see monkeys but your tour stops at the quieter Wat Prachum Sueksa instead of Wat Tham Suwan Kuha — don’t worry! We’ve got you covered. Your guide will take you to a picturesque public park in Phang Nga, home to a lively troop of resident monkeys.

Enjoy watching these curious creatures in their natural surroundings, but please be cautious — monkeys love shiny objects! We strongly recommend leaving any loose jewelry, such as necklaces and bracelets, in the minivan before entering the park to avoid losing them to cheeky hands. This fun and relaxed stop is a favorite for animal lovers and photographers alike!

05.00 PM - 05.30 PM: Return to Your Hotel in Khao Lak

We’ll have you back at your Khao Lak resort around 5:00 PM, just in time to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the North Andaman Sea.

As you step off the minibus, please make sure to take all your personal belongings with you. Thank you for choosing us for your adventure — we hope you had an amazing day and look forward to seeing you again on your next Thailand experience!

Wonderful experience with elephants!

This was one of the most beautiful trips we've ever made. The elephants really live here species-appropriate - no riding, no coercion, just peace and respect. We could feed them, take them for a walk and experience them up close. The atmosphere was totally relaxed, nothing was overflowing or touristic exaggerated. Also the guides were super friendly and told a lot about the animals and the background of the project. You can tell immediately: Here, the welfare of animals is paramount. For those who love animals and value responsible tourism, this is an absolute must. Thanks to Phuket Travel Store for this special experience!
