Meet the Herd

Since opening its doors in 2016, Phuket Elephant Sanctuary has become a true haven for more than 20 elephants rescued from a lifetime of hard labor and exploitation in the logging industry, trekking camps, and entertainment shows. Many of these elephants arrived physically and emotionally scarred, having endured decades of riding, chains, and forced performances. Here, they are given a second chance at life—free from cruelty and stress—where they can roam, forage, bathe, and socialize naturally in 30 acres of lush tropical jungle.

Our dedicated team provides each elephant with the specialized care, nutrition, and attention they need to heal and thrive. In the sanctuary, visitors have the unique opportunity to meet our current residents and hear the inspiring stories of elephants who spent their final years surrounded by peace and compassion.
