Discover the fascinating history, culture and ancient heritage of Northern Thailand on a Lamphun & Wiang Kum Kam Private Full-Day Cultural Tour with Phuket Travel Store. This private cultural experience takes you from your hotel to two remarkable historical destinations near Chiang Mai: the ancient settlement of Wiang Kum Kam and the historic city of Lamphun.

Designed for travelers who want to experience more than the usual tourist attractions, this private full-day tour from Chiang Mai combines ancient temples, Lanna history, Buddhist culture, archaeological sites and beautiful Northern Thai architecture. With a private tour experience, you can explore the destinations at a comfortable pace while discovering some of the most important historical places in the region.
Explore the Ancient City of Wiang Kum Kam
Your Wiang Kum Kam tour begins with a journey to one of Northern Thailand's most fascinating archaeological areas. Wiang Kum Kam was an important ancient settlement associated with King Mangrai and the early development of the Lanna Kingdom. Today, the area is known for its atmospheric brick ruins, historic temples and peaceful rural surroundings.
During your Wiang Kum Kam private tour, you can explore the remains of this ancient city and discover several important temples. One of the highlights is Wat Chang Kam, also known as Wat Kan Thom, an historic temple surrounded by the traditional landscape of the former settlement.

Another impressive site is Wat Chedi Liem, recognized for its distinctive Mon-style stepped chedi. The temple provides a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the architectural influences that shaped the religious and cultural history of the Chiang Mai region.
Exploring Wiang Kum Kam ancient city offers a different perspective on Northern Thailand. Instead of the busy atmosphere of central Chiang Mai, you will find quiet lanes, village communities, old brick structures and historic Buddhist temples spread throughout the archaeological areas.
Depending on local arrangements and availability, visitors can also experience the site by local open-air tram or traditional horse-drawn carriage. This can be a relaxing way to see the different archaeological locations while learning more about the history of Wiang Kum Kam.
For travelers interested in Chiang Mai history, Lanna culture, archaeology and ancient temples, Wiang Kum Kam is an excellent addition to a Northern Thailand itinerary.
Continue to Historic Lamphun

After exploring Wiang Kum Kam, your private journey continues south to Lamphun, one of the most historically important cities in Northern Thailand.
Known as one of the region's oldest cities, Lamphun was once the center of the Haripunchai Kingdom. The city's history reaches back many centuries, making a Lamphun cultural tour an excellent choice for travelers who want to discover the roots of Northern Thai civilization.
The highlight of your visit is Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, one of the most revered Buddhist temples in Lamphun. The temple stands on the site traditionally associated with the former royal center of the ancient kingdom.
The magnificent Wat Phra That Hariphunchai is famous for its impressive golden stupa, traditional Lanna architecture and strong connection to Northern Thailand's Buddhist heritage. The temple remains an important religious center, and visitors can take time to appreciate its beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings.
While exploring Lamphun Old Town, you can experience the atmosphere of a historic Northern Thai city and see how centuries of religious and cultural traditions remain part of everyday life.

Customer Testimonials
Yaowarat Bangkok Food Tour
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This food tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Bangkok! We booked through Phuket Travel Store, and everything was perfectly arranged from start to finish. Our guide was excellent—friendly, informative, and full of interesting stories about Bangkok's Chinatown and its amazing food scene. We sampled a fantastic variety of authentic dishes at local eateries and street food stalls, all of which were delicious. The portions were generous, the pace was relaxed, and the experience felt very authentic. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bangkok. Booking through Phuket Travel Store made everything easy, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience!
Excellent company for airport transfers & excursions
We booked x2 transfers and the hong by starlight tour a few months before our holiday. Communication was quick and informative, and when we arrived to Thailand, kept regulaly informed by whats app. Transfers were alll on time, with clean and very good sized transport. However the highlight of our whole holiday was the John Gray Sea Canoes trip. A full day out with absolutely stunning scenery, we were allocated a private guide per x2 passengers who were so friendly and informative, taking photos and pointing out wildlife when out on the canoes. The food onboard was the best we have ever had on a boat trip, the coconut milk pudding with rainbow tapioca balls was deemed the best dessert ever by the kids! Making the kratong and floating it at sunset was a beautiful event and the lit up bioluminence after dark in the caves was again a memory we will all trwasuee forever. If you're going to book one trip, make it the John Gray Canoes - you wont regret it!
Excellent day!
Excellent day by boat to visit the 4 islands, the guide was super friendly and welcoming. The day was rhythmic but lorgic with 4 islands to visit! And end around 2:30 pm so it’s rather nice to return quietly to the hotel not too late! Nice discovery, I recommend!
