Bangkok Chinatown Yaowarat Street Food Tour
Welcome to the Bangkok Chinatown Yaowarat Street Food Tour with Phuket Travel Store, your ultimate gateway to Thailand’s most iconic culinary neighborhood. Situated in the heart of Bangkok, Yaowarat Road—better known as Bangkok Chinatown—is a world-renowned destination for street food lovers, culinary adventurers, and those eager to explore the rich heritage of Thai-Chinese cuisine. This bustling district offers one of the most authentic, flavorful, and exciting food experiences in Bangkok, making it an essential stop for both first-time visitors and returning travelers.
Known as the street food capital of Bangkok, Yaowarat is where traditional recipes, passed down for generations, meet the fast-paced energy of modern urban life. This is where sizzling woks, bubbling noodle broths, steaming bamboo baskets, and fragrant herbs line the sidewalks, inviting you to indulge in a feast of local flavors. CNN Travel, Michelin Guide, and countless food bloggers have all recognized Bangkok Chinatown as a top destination for street food in Asia—and now, you can explore it with a trusted local guide by your side.
By day, Yaowarat bustles as a center for gold shops, herbal stores, Chinese medicine clinics, and wholesale markets. But it’s after dark that the neighborhood truly comes alive. As night falls, Yaowarat transforms into a neon-lit food haven, with hundreds of stalls setting up shop along both sides of the road. The sidewalks become a sensory overload of sizzling seafood, spicy noodle soups, crispy pork, fluffy bao buns, sweet Thai-Chinese desserts, and more. For many, this overwhelming abundance of options makes it hard to know where to start—even for Bangkok locals.
That’s where Phuket Travel Store’s guided food tour makes all the difference. We’ve handpicked the best street food stalls and hidden restaurants in Chinatown, combining must-try classics with local secrets. Our tour lets you dive deep into Bangkok's authentic food culture without the hassle of researching, queuing, or second-guessing what to eat. You’ll visit places that most tourists walk past—some of them family-run for decades and known only to locals.
Throughout the tour, you’ll not only eat like a true Thai-Chinese local, but also hear the stories behind the food, the history of Chinatown, and the unique culinary traditions that shaped this extraordinary neighborhood. Whether it’s learning how the famous Yen Ta Fo noodle soup gets its signature pink color, discovering the art of making hand-rolled dumplings, or finding out which dessert stall has been serving up black sesame dumplings in ginger tea for three generations, every bite comes with a rich cultural tale.
This tour isn’t just about eating—it’s about connecting with a neighborhood that represents a vibrant part of Bangkok’s identity. You’ll walk through historic alleys, see temples like Leng Buai Ia Shrine, stop by the Chinese Gate at Odeon Circle, and watch traditional food vendors in action. It’s the perfect balance of food, culture, and exploration.

Customer Testimonials
Ayutthaya
We would like to thank the Phuket Travel Store, especially Sunee for organizing some of our tours in Thailand. The team was really professional and we always had quick replies to our queries. We visited the Palais Royal de Bang Pa-In, in Ayutthaya the Wat Maha That and had a boat tour back to Bangkok with lunch. Our guide was kind and knowledgeable, we had a great day. Everything went well apart from the French guide not being available resulting in last minute changes and the boat/van not being completely wheelchair adapted. With help it was possible. I suggested either a car with a big booth for manual wheelchair users or a van with wheelchair ramp. Thank you for improving accessibility.
Fantastic experience
Fantastic to deal with. We had a great time on all the tours. Very well organised and best informative and responsive
Catamaran trip to Similan Islands
I booked the Similan Islands tour to do on my birthday whilst on holiday in Phuket. The booking was well managed with all my questions answered quickly and my booking confirmed easily. It was a brilliant day and very well organised.
